Our Story
Helping Future Dentists Thrive
The Student Dental Business Organization was founded in 2018 by Dr. Friend Bechtel. What began purely as a passion soon grew into a thriving organization with the help of Dr. Ryan White and Dr. Jack Pohler. This unique and desperately needed group was birthed out of a small study at the University of Kentucky Dental School and now is sprouting up all across the country as students realize what a vacuum of opportunity currently awaits.
Of course, they were learning how to be dentists, but they weren’t being taught the business side of how to run a practice. The two set out to change that, and created the Student Dental Business Organization with the goal of providing ALL students (whether they're interested in being an owner, partner, or associate) the knowledge to take control of their future. “Business isn’t hard: it just takes consistency, discipline, and awareness.”
